About Dominican Advance
Dominican Advance began in 2006 in the Dominican Republic as the vision of Dr. Kim & Josie Pensinger. Prior to coming to the Dominican, they had over 25 years of experience ministering in Canada, the United States, Argentina and Costa Rica. What they saw in the Dominican Republic inspired them to dedicate the remainder of their lives to providing a brighter future for the Dominican people.
Dominican Advance, Inc was incorporated as a 501 c 3 non-profit in the United States in 2007. In 2008, the ministry was incorporated as a non-profit charity in the Dominican Republic under the name Avance Dominicano. In 2010, Dominican Advance Christian Charity was incorporated in Ontario and received acceptance as a registered public charity in Canada.
Dominican Advance Christian Charity is governed by a board of directors and also is overseen by a Joint Venture Agreement Board that assures the separation of the US non-profit corporation and the Canadian public charity.
Dr. Kim & Josie live in the Dominican Republic and have three children, Michael, 24, (Essex, Ontario), Neil, 20 (Vista, California), and Zoe, 14, who lives with her parents in the DR.
